Summary
Perform microbiology and quality control testing for raw materials, in-process checks, and finished products in a manufacturing lab, ensuring compliance with GMP and ISO standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct microbiology testing covering environmental control, raw materials, and finished product inspections
- Oversee the full quality control process from incoming raw and packaging materials, pre-weighed raw materials, and in-process checks through to final product release
- Maintain the laboratory, retention room, and pre-weight room — including inventory management, equipment upkeep, and cleanliness standards
- Operate and maintain the DI water system
- Monitor and verify the pre-weighing process to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Manage retention samples and handle the creation and updating of SDS and COA documentation
- Assist in investigating and troubleshooting customer complaints related to product quality, including conducting tests to support product improvement
- Support both internal and external audits in relation to GMP, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 standards
- Update, record, and maintain GMP and ISO documentation in accordance with requirements
- Create, update, and manage records within the SAP system
- Ensure compliance with Health Sciences Authority (HSA) Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines, environmental practice guidelines, quality manual, and health and safety policies
- Manage the renewal and follow-up of product permits and licences through HSA
- Actively contribute feedback and suggestions during monthly staff meetings
- Oversee pest control contract management, including monitoring bait locations and ensuring monthly inspections are carried out
- Undertake any additional projects or assignments as directed by management
Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma qualification; a background in Chemistry will be an added advantage
- At least 2 years of relevant QC experience required
- Knowledge of GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is preferred
- An independent and objective thinker with strong integrity
- Internal and external training will be provided
