Connect Housing Blocks is building the future of modular construction in Columbus, and we’re looking for a Junior Quality Control Inspector to join our Weekend shift team.

This person will mainly work in our rough-in department, where we build the frame walls, floors, and ceilings for every module. You’ll inspect that work as it’s being built and make sure it meets CHB’s standards before it moves on to the next stage. Catching problems at this point keeps them from getting covered up later, so this job matters a lot to the finished product.

What You’ll Do

  • Walk the production floor and inspect walls, floors, and ceilings during the framing and rough-in process
  • Check dimensions, square, level, and plumb against drawings and specs
  • Verify stud, joist, and rafter spacing, openings, headers, blocking, and fastener placement
  • Look for damaged or wrong material, missing parts, and work that doesn’t match the plans
  • Follow inspection checklists the same way every time
  • Document what you find accurately and flag items that need to be fixed
  • Talk with production team members and leads about issues clearly and respectfully
  • Reinspect corrected work to make sure it’s right before it moves forward
  • Spot repeat problems and pass them along so they can be fixed at the source
  • Keep quality records up to date
  • Learn and use our technology and AI tools in the inspection process
  • Do a daily handoff with the Quality Manager at the start of shift

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong attention to detail. You notice the things other people miss.
  • Comfortable using a tape measure, level, and square, and reading basic drawings (or willing to learn)
  • Able to follow a process the same way every time
  • Not afraid to call out something that isn’t right
  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
  • Able to work on your own and stay focused through the whole shift
  • Comfortable on your feet and walking the production floor most of the night
  • Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new technology

Experience That Could Be a Good Fit

We’re open to people from a lot of different backgrounds, including:

  • Framing, carpentry, or general construction
  • Quality control or inspection
  • Manufacturing or production
  • Trade school or construction programs
  • Any detail-oriented, hands-on work

Construction experience is a plus but not required. We care more about whether you can learn our product, follow the process, and hold a high standard every day.

If you pay attention to the details and take pride in doing the job right, we’d like to hear from you.

Come help us build the future of housing.
