Quality Control Manager
About the role
Quality Control MANAGER in a precision machining environment. Oversees inspection teams, enforces compliance with standards like ISO 9001 or AS9100, manages First Article Inspections (FAI), and leads root-cause problem solving for machined components.
Key responsibilities
Manage incoming, in-process, and final inspection gates, including CMM programming and precision tools
Oversee and approve FAI reports and new product introduction (NPI) documentation for high-tolerance parts
Handle non-conformance reports (NCR), leading corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) via 8D or 5-Why methodologies
Train, mentor, and schedule the daily work of QC inspectors and work closely with quality engineers
Monitor supplier performance, qualify new vendors, and lead external vendor audits
About you
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Precision Engineering
5+ years working in quality control within a CNC machining or metal manufacturing setting
Advanced blueprint reading, Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) usage
Practical command of Statistical Process Control (SPC), CpK, Gage R&R, and FMEA
