QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all quality control and assurance activities across shipbuilding, repair, or offshore projects
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO and marine classification standards
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, client specifications, and industry standards (e.g., class societies, flag state requirements)
- Lead inspections, audits, and testing of materials, processes, and completed works
- Manage and coordinate third-party inspections and certifications
- Review and approve Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality procedures
- Investigate non-conformities, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Monitor project quality performance and prepare detailed reports for management and clients
- Liaise with production, engineering, and project teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout project lifecycle
- Train and mentor QC inspectors and promote a strong quality culture within the organization
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in quality control within marine, shipyard, or offshore industry
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and marine classification rules (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s, etc.)
- Experience with welding inspections, NDT methods, and material inspections
- Certified in relevant QC disciplines (e.g., CSWIP, NDT Level II/III) is an advantage
- Familiar with shipyard operations, fabrication, and repair processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in shipyards or offshore fabrication environments
- Knowledge of HSE standards and integration with quality systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
- Proficiency in quality reporting tools and documentation systems
