Quality Control Specialist (Taipei, Taiwan)

Role Overview

T&G Global Taiwan is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to support the Envy apple season. The role is for 1-year fixed-term contracts (with potential conversion to permanent) with the primary base at new Taipei City and Taoyuan. The role requires hands-on inspection capability, digital reporting discipline, and flexibility for external site inspection support.

Job Description

• Conduct arrival inspections on imported Envy apple containers.
• Inspect key quality parameters: external defects, firmness, Brix (sugar content), IBD (Internal Browning Disorder) cutting, container/pallet temperature, and carton weight.
• Record all inspection data accurately and in real-time into T&G's QC reporting system; training and system access will be provided.
• Conduct storage condition checks on pallets held in-store and advise on inventory prioritization and rework needs.
• Deploy to secondary sites as required.
• Escalate suspected quality issues promptly; conduct expanded sampling when claim substantiation is required.

Skills & Requirements

Essential:

• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in fresh produce Quality Control, food inspection, or related agricultural/FMCG quality role preferred.
• Hands-on experience with destructive testing methods (firmness, Brix, cutting for IBD) preferred.
• Familiarity with cold chain logistics and temperature management.
• Proficiency in digital reporting tools; ability to learn system operating quickly.
• Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and time management under operational pressure.
• Ability to work across multiple sites.
• Mandarin Chinese required; basic English for system use and reporting is a plus.
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks, including lifting and moving cartons — Cartons weigh approximately 10-20kg; this is a hands-on field role.
