About the Role
This position manages procurement activities in support of a government base operations support contract and is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the acquisition of materials, supplies, equipment, and services necessary while ensuring compliance with company policies and Government procurement regulations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage all procurement activities including sourcing, quoting, supplier selection, purchase order issuance, expediting, and vendor management.
- Lead competitive bidding processes and evaluate supplier proposals to ensure best value, quality, cost, and schedule requirements are achieved.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms and conditions with suppliers and vendors.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support operational requirements.
- Review and approve purchase orders and procurement actions to ensure compliance with company policies, contract requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers, products, and sourcing strategies to improve service, reduce costs, and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, funding, invoices, and issue resolution to ensure continuity of operations.
- Provide procurement guidance and support to site leadership, program management, finance, operations, warehouse, and maintenance teams.
- Supervise procurement personnel, assign workload, monitor performance, and support employee development.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable regulations, including the Uniform Commercial Code, FAR, DFARS, and company requirements.
- Prepare reports, status updates, and other procurement-related documentation as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Five (5) or more years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience required.
- Experience leading procurement teams, vendor management, sourcing, and purchasing activities required.
- Working knowledge of procurement regulations, including UCC, FAR, and DFARS.
- Experience supporting government contracts, facilities maintenance, construction, or base operations support programs preferred.
- Experience with competitive bidding, supplier negotiations, and purchase order management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with work order systems such as Maximo preferred.
- Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment.
