Quality Engineer

Turn quality problems into lasting improvements. FabMax in Wood Dale, IL, is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer who enjoys investigating issues, working with production teams, and developing solutions that prevent problems from recurring.

In this role, you will help protect product quality by managing supplier defects, customer complaints, and production quality issues. You will also prepare First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.

What you’ll do:
• Investigate customer complaints and coordinate timely responses and corrective actions.
• Address supplier defects that reach production and work with suppliers to prevent recurrence.
• Investigate production defects that pass through inspection or other quality controls.
• Coordinate containment of suspect or nonconforming material.
• Lead root-cause investigations and verify that corrective actions are effective.
• Prepare and maintain FAI and PPAP documentation.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and quality personnel to clarify requirements and resolve concerns.
• Review quality trends and recommend practical process improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of investigations, corrective actions, and customer submissions.
