ClassLink is seeking a Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer (IC2) independently supports the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-quality software across assigned products and features. This role develops comprehensive testing strategies, expands automated test coverage, applies AI-enabled testing practices, evaluates technical and product risks, and integrates quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Working closely with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Operations, and fellow Quality Engineers, this role validates functional and nonfunctional requirements, contributes reusable testing assets and standards, and shares knowledge with less experienced engineers. Success requires strong quality engineering and automation expertise, sound judgment, effective communication, independent problem-solving, and a continuous improvement mindset.
AI-Enabled Engineering & Technical Excellence
- Design and execute testing strategies for assigned product areas that balance software quality, delivery speed, and business objectives.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, automated tests, test data, and quality validation strategies that provide appropriate coverage for new features and enhancements.
- Apply AI-assisted testing practices to develop, review, refine, and validate AI-generated test cases, test plans, and testing artifacts while maintaining engineering judgment and quality standards.
- Apply and promote established quality engineering practices, responsible AI validation, automation, and software quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
Accountablity & Results
- Design and implement testing approaches that validate functional, integration, API, end-to-end, acceptance, regression, performance, and non-functional requirements based on product complexity and release risk.
- Develop, maintain, and improve automated testing frameworks that increase software quality, release confidence, and engineering efficiency.
- Partner with Engineering teams to troubleshoot software defects, validate fixes, and ensure solutions meet established quality, security, and release readiness standards.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Expand automated test coverage and improve testing efficiency through AI-assisted testing, workflow optimization, modern testing frameworks, and continuous process improvement.
- Monitor quality metrics, customer feedback, testing results, and release outcomes to identify trends and opportunities for defect prevention and quality improvement.
- Contribute to technical documentation, reusable testing assets, automation frameworks, quality metrics, and engineering standards that improve consistency across teams.
- Stay current with emerging testing technologies, AI-enabled quality engineering capabilities, and modern software engineering practices, recommending improvements that strengthen organizational quality.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Developer Experience, Infrastructure, Operations, and fellow Quality Engineers to integrate quality throughout the software development lifecycle and identify quality risks early.
- Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, release readiness, and technical recommendations to stakeholders while supporting informed delivery decisions.
- Participate in design discussions, architecture reviews, code reviews for testability, and cross-functional planning activities to promote shift-left quality practices.
- Provide technical guidance, constructive feedback, and knowledge sharing to Associate Quality Engineers while reinforcing quality engineering best practices and AI-assisted testing techniques.
This role is remote with quarterly in-person strategy meetings.
