Responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing quality systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring products meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role partners closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Suppliers to resolve quality issues, reduce defects, and improve overall process capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily manufacturing operations by identifying and resolving quality issues.
- Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, A3, etc.).
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans, inspection procedures, and work instructions.
- Monitor key quality metrics (PPM, Scrap, Yield, FPY, COPQ) and drive corrective actions.
- Analyze process capability and recommend improvements to reduce variation and improve product quality.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP when applicable.
- Conduct internal process audits and support external customer and certification audits.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to validate process improvements and equipment changes.
- Work with suppliers to address incoming quality issues and monitor supplier performance.
- Support customer complaint investigations and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Facilitate continuous improvement projects focused on quality, cost reduction, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable quality standards.
- Train production personnel on quality requirements and inspection methods.
- Prepare quality reports and communicate findings to management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field).
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action processes.
- Experience with statistical analysis and process capability.
- Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and GD&T.
- Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- English proficiency (conversational to advanced).
