Quality Engineer
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support daily manufacturing quality activities and upcoming product launches in an automotive manufacturing environment. This role focuses primarily on maintaining and improving existing quality systems while supporting APQP and PPAP activities for new programs.
What You'll Do
- Support daily quality activities to ensure conforming product is shipped.
- Coordinate material containment, rework, and scrap disposition.
- Lead and support 8D problem-solving for quality issues.
- Conduct layered process and product audits.
- Partner with Operations to ensure process compliance and product quality.
- Maintain quality documentation, including work instructions, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and inspection standards.
- Support APQP, PPAP, engineering changes, and new product launches.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and scrap.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or a similar regulated industry preferred.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and root cause analysis.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
