Job Elements
• Ensure compliance with the required quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, customer-specific requirements).
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans, inspection plans, and control plans for new and existing products.
• Conduct root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, DMAIC) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead investigations into internal non-conformances, customer complaints, and supplier quality issues.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined and achievable.
• Participate in design reviews, process validation, and production readiness activities.
• Perform process capability studies and statistical analysis using Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques where appropriate.
• Support internal, customer, and third-party audits and assist in maintaining audit readiness.
• Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and support supplier development initiatives.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Prepare quality reports and present findings to management and customers as required.
• Ensure calibration, inspection, and testing activities are conducted in accordance with applicable procedures.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience within the automotive, aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
• Experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and quality assurance principles.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience using quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, SPC, MSA, and PPAP (where applicable).
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above).
• Internal Auditor qualification.
