Quality Engineer (Precision Machining)

Summary

Oversee quality control for aerospace components, troubleshoot machining issues, and ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer specs.

We are representing our client to hire for a Quality Engineer to support aerospace manufacturing operations, ensuring machined components meet customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support CNC machining and manufacturing operations on quality-related matters.
  • Work closely with machinists, production, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Investigate non-conformances and lead corrective actions using root cause analysis tools.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI), audits, and customer quality requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 and internal quality management systems.

Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing quality, preferably within aerospace or precision engineering.
  • Hands-on experience supporting machinists and precision machined components.
  • Knowledge of NCRs, CAPA, root cause analysis, and quality tools.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Exposure to CNC machining, special processes, CMM inspection, AS9102 FAI, and supplier quality.
