Quality Engineer (QRE)

Location: This position is based on-site in Lebanon, KY. Remote work is not available.
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and manage customer quality concerns through customer portals and internal systems.
  • Issue quality alerts and communicate concerns to production, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Coordinate containment activities, sorting, certifications, and short-term countermeasures.
  • Track and document customer complaints, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Collect and analyze investigation data and develop customer reports.
  • Submit responses and final reports to customers within required deadlines.
  • Monitor customer portals and ensure timely closure of quality issues.
  • Request, review, and process returned defect parts according to company procedures.
  • Lead root cause analysis using 5-Why, 8D, and other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Support IATF audits and maintain required quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve quality concerns and PPM disputes.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement (Kaizen) opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field, or 2-3 years of quality or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with IATF 16949, TS 16949, or automotive quality systems preferred.
  • Internal auditor training and statistical analysis experience preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Customer quality portals and reporting systems
  • Blueprint reading and technical documentation
  • 5-Why, 8D, and other structured problem-solving tools

Physical & Work Environment

  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor activities.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Moderate noise environment.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
