About the Role
We are seeking a detail-driven Quality Engineer to champion product reliability and ensure every assembly meets the highest customer and industry standards. You’ll work cross-functionally with Production, Process, and Engineering teams to prevent defects, investigate issues, and drive continuous improvement throughout our PCB manufacturing operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor production quality performance and lead root cause analysis for nonconformances, escapes, and yield issues.

  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring problems.

  • Support first article inspections (FAI), in-process audits, and final inspection verification for SMT, Through-Hole, and mechanical assemblies.

  • Collaborate with Process and Manufacturing Engineers to validate new processes, tooling, and equipment from a quality standpoint.

  • Review MPIs, customer specifications, and inspection criteria to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 and other applicable standards.

  • Analyze defect and rework data to identify trends and drive process and quality improvements.

  • Support DFM reviews, ECOs, and MRB activities to ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality decisions.

  • Participate in internal and external audits (ISO, customer, regulatory) and maintain quality system compliance.

  • Provide quality training and guidance to production operators and technicians.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience in electronics or PCBA manufacturing environments (SMT, Through-Hole, Reflow, Wave Solder).

  • Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610/620, AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems, and data-driven problem solving (8D, 5 Whys, Pareto, etc.).

  • Proficiency with quality tools such as PFMEA, control plans, and statistical analysis (SPC).

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across teams.

Pay Range
$80,000$100,000 USD

ITAR/EAR Compliance: Due to the nature of the work performed at Rocket EMS, this position may require access to export-controlled technical data or technology. The successful candidate must be eligible to access such information under applicable U.S. export-control laws or be eligible for any required government authorization.
