SUMMARY: QUALITY ENGINEER

Independently performs quality engineering assignments of moderate complexity and partners across functions to improve product and process performance. Leads investigations, corrective actions, audits, reporting activities, and quality improvement initiatives while applying sound engineering judgment. This position is full time in the office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop, validate, and implement ISO 9001 documentation, inspection methods, and quality records for assigned areas.
  • Lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and effectiveness verification activities for routine and moderately complex quality issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving and data-based decision making.
  • Plan and execute first article inspections, capability studies, analysis, and formal report preparation.
  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate corrective actions with process owners.
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and management review reporting.
  • Independently apply statistical methods and quality engineering tools to evaluate capability and process performance.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze quality performance trends and recommend actions that improve reliability, manufacturability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate directly with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and suppliers to prevent and resolve quality issues.
  • Lead assigned supplier quality improvement activities and corrective action follow-up.
  • Provide technical input to PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, GR&R, and capability assessments.
  • Implement improvements to digital quality tools, reporting systems, and measurement processes while providing guidance to associates.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 4+ years of quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, SPC, MSA, process capability analysis, and quality engineering techniques.
  • Experience applying root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Ability to independently manage standard quality engineering assignments and coordinate cross-functional activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and reporting or data visualization tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting ISO 9001 or other regulated quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with 8D, A3, 5-Why, Fault Tree Analysis, Ishikawa, SPC, MSA, and GR&R tools.
  • Experience with supplier quality, auditing, process validation, PFMEA, DFMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Experience in manufacturing, storage systems, electromechanical products, or related industries.

Location: Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Boulder, CO office. Relocation assistance is not available. Only local candidates will be considered.

Compensation: $98,000 - $118,000/ year. While this salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, a candidate’s actual salary will be competitive based on a variety of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience within the range.
