Quality Engineer

Location: This position is based on-site in Lebanon, KY. Remote work is not available.
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish quality systems and standards for new products, processes, and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation, inspection standards, control plans, and quality records.
  • Create and update Manufacturing Quality Charts (MQC) and Process Control Plans.
  • Perform gage development, gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies, and capability analysis.
  • Lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) development and identify process risks with cross-functional teams.
  • Support customer part approvals and quality submissions.
  • Analyze process performance using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and statistical methods.
  • Develop inspection fixtures and checking concepts for new products.
  • Investigate quality concerns using root cause analysis, 5-Why, and 8D methodologies.
  • Support production teams in resolving quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Attend product trials and customer validation activities.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure quality expectations are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of quality or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience preparing PPAP, ISO, TS/IATF, or other Quality Management System documentation.
  • Knowledge of SPC, capability studies, PFMEA, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer relationship skills.
  • Experience using 5-Why, 8D, and other root cause methodologies.

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Minitab or similar SPC software
  • Blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
  • Quality systems and statistical analysis tools

Physical & Work Environment

  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor activities.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Moderate noise environment.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
