Job Summary
Carrier Wheels Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Quality Head to lead the Quality function for automotive steel wheel/rim manufacturing. The role is responsible for ensuring product quality, customer satisfaction, process improvements, and compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), Incoming Quality (IQC), In-Process Quality (IPQC), and Final Inspection teams.
Develop and implement quality strategies to achieve customer satisfaction and zero-defect manufacturing.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and SPC.
Lead customer audits, internal audits, supplier audits, and certification audits.
Handle customer complaints using 8D, 5 Why, CAPA, and root cause analysis.
Monitor quality KPIs such as PPM, rejection, rework, warranty claims, and COPQ.
Ensure APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC are effectively implemented.
Work closely with Production, Design, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to improve product and process quality.
Develop supplier quality systems and monitor supplier performance.
Mentor and develop the quality team through training and performance management.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards across the plant.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D, CAPA, and Core Quality Tools.
Expertise in automotive manufacturing and steel wheel/rim production.
Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Experience in customer handling and audit management.
Excellent communication and team management abilities.
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (Master's degree is an added advantage).
Experience
12–18 years of experience in the automotive manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience in steel wheel/rim manufacturing or automotive component manufacturing is highly preferred.
