Compensation Range: $20.00-$25.00/hour, based on experience

Shift: Second Shift, 3:00 PM-1:00 AM Monday through Thursday; There will be initial training on First Shift, 5:00 AM-3:00 PM, for approximately one month

Position Summary

Valley Steel Stamp is hiring a Quality Inspector for second shift to inspect precision-machined components and assemblies throughout the manufacturing process. This role is responsible for verifying parts against drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements using precision measuring equipment and inspection systems. The Quality Inspector supports production by identifying nonconforming material, documenting inspection results accurately, and helping ensure that customer requirements and VSS quality standards are consistently met.

This position requires successful completion of initial first-shift training for approximately one month before transitioning to the regular second-shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality inspections of products throughout the manufacturing process to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.

• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, comparators, and other applicable quality control tools to verify part dimensions and features.

• Operate or assist with vision inspection systems, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other inspection equipment as trained and assigned.

• Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, work orders, inspection plans, and applicable GD&T requirements.

• Perform visual inspections to identify cosmetic concerns, handling damage, burrs, finish defects, contamination, or other part conditions that may impact quality.

• Document inspection results accurately and in a timely manner, including measurements, part counts, inspection records, and nonconformance information as required.

• Identify, segregate, and escalate nonconforming material or quality concerns to the Quality Inspection Supervisor, Quality Assurance, and/or production leadership.

• Communicate clearly with production, finishing, engineering, and quality team members regarding inspection findings, priorities, and recurring issues.

• Maintain knowledge of applicable QA/QC practices, inspection methods, and company quality procedures.

• Maintain the inspection area, tools, gauges, and equipment in a clean, organized, and orderly condition.

• Follow all company policies, safety requirements, PPE expectations, and applicable procedures while working in the manufacturing environment.

• Support team production and quality goals by performing additional inspection or quality-related duties as assigned.
