Arconic is seeking a Quality Laboratory Technician to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide laboratory testing to support operation of the Lafayette manufacturing process.

The Quality Laboratory Technician within AEX requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to teamwork. General duties for the Quality Laboratory Technician include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the control and developmental activities in regard to the Production and Metallurgical departments.
  • Accurately, effectively, and efficiently providing test results with being quality conscious.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of manufacturing experience or experience in a laboratory environment
  • Must have applicable experience solving problems and understanding customer specifications and procedures
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to review and interpret data
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience or experience in a laboratory environment
  • Single point accountability in regards to writing, maintaining, and controlling certain measurement assurance manuals and processes relative to various physical-testing procedures used within the laboratory
  • Training other laboratory technicians in the operation of test equipment and procedures pertaining to assigned processes.
  • Experience in sawing, machining, testing and chemical analysis
  • Knowledgeable to monitor and maintain control charts critical to sustaining AS9100 and Nadcap certification
  • Understanding the importance of laboratory cleanliness and safety requirements
  • Able to be self-sufficient in a fast pace environment to achieve departmental and plant goals
