Quality Manager - Cleveland, OH

Position Overview:

The Quality Manager is responsible for implementing and managing Higley Construction's Quality Control Management System (QCMS) across multiple commercial construction projects. Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, this role works closely with project teams, owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, and quality standards. The Quality Manager serves as a proactive leader in identifying quality risks, developing project-specific quality plans, facilitating inspections, and promoting continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a strong construction background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to our core values, quality, accountability, and excellence.

Responsibilities:

Lead quality assurance and quality control efforts on multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously.
Implement and maintain Higley's Quality Control Management System (QCMS) on assigned projects.
Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications to identify and communicate project quality requirements.
Develop and assist project teams with project-specific Quality Plans.
Facilitate Quality Kick-Off Meetings and ensure quality requirements are incorporated into subcontract documents and project schedules.
Participate in subcontractor scope review meetings and project meetings as needed.
Coordinate and facilitate Pre-Installation Meetings for Definable Features of Work.
Conduct First Work-in-Place Inspections and Follow-Up Inspections with project teams and subcontractors.
Identify, track, and assist in resolving non-compliant work items.
Evaluate subcontractor quality control procedures and provide recommendations for improvement.
Utilize quality management software, including HammerTech and Power BI, to maintain inspection records and reporting.
Train and support project teams and subcontractors in the use of quality management processes and software.
Promote quality best practices, continuous improvement, and lessons learned throughout the organization.
Provide regular quality reporting and updates to the Senior Quality Manager.
Perform additional related duties as assigned

Ability to identify quality risks and develop practical solutions throughout construction.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Effective presentation and facilitation skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to remain professional and effective in demanding situations.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Ability to learn and effectively utilize construction technology platforms and inspection software.
Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and coaching capabilities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 5 years of construction industry experience in a role such as Superintendent, Project Manager, Architect, or similar construction leadership position.
Previous quality management experience is preferred but not required.
Experience reviewing construction documents, specifications, and quality requirements.
Experience working with quality management software, reporting systems, and construction technology platforms is preferred.
Pursue professional development opportunities, including obtaining ASQ Certified Construction Quality Manager certification within two years if not already attained.
