Position Summary:

As the onsite Customer Quality Manager for the Trent 1000-TEN/XE based on site in Boeing, you will be responsible for providing leadership, expertise and direction on Quality to the Charleston RR Team. Developing & maintaining strong and collaborative relationships with our customers is vital to our ongoing business success and a key part of this role. There will be both the chance to work both reactively and proactively with Boeing to ensure we meet their requirements & drive Quality performance improvements'. This is an exciting and dynamic role, where you will need to be able to manage high pressure and challenging situations at times, but you will have the direct support of the onsite Operations Manager & the Senior Customer Quality Manager for Trent 1000, 7000 & 700 engines. One day to the next can be different, with new challenges and opportunities, but the goal remains the same to ensure we deliver our engine products on time with Zero Defects. In this role you will travel up to 10%.

What you will be doing:

  • Act as initial Customer Quality point of contact to Boeing on-site teams, collaboratively working to understand & resolve quality related technical queries in timely manner.
  • Be the key interface for on-site assurance activities and deploy local governance framework to monitor compliance with requirements (CAA Regulations (POA), ARIS etc.), and ensure management of any findings, local Quality issues and improvements to support the delivery of the goals & objectives for the team.
  • Lead the management & coaching of problem containment and resolution for issues originating within the onsite team, to minimize impact and to ensure the necessary corrective and preventative actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Be the focal for regulation & customer requirements applicable to the team, and manage ownership of local Quality processes and relevant training, in alignment with ARIS and the regulatory framework.
  • Present & participate at Boeing Quality Reviews, including providing the local insight and reporting of Quality issues and events, and actively contribute to the Quality improvement strategy to meet the Boeing Quality Scorecard targets & customer expectations.
  • Lead the local team Safety Assurance activities and provide reporting requirements, as well as ensuring any safety concerns or risks are shared with Customer Team Leadership.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in a Quality or Technical field, with an appreciation and a level of working knowledge of Zero Defects tools / methodologies, with practical experience in application & coaching of problem-solving methods (e.g. SIS, 8D).
  • Demonstrated levels of leadership and influence, including experience in the use of effective coaching techniques,
  • Strong communication & presentation skills, ideally with experience of working with external stakeholders/customers
  • Experience working under pressure and having to deal with ambiguity
  • Experience leading and working with multifunctional teams to resolve problems and assure quality standards are upheld for the engines we deliver.
  • Appreciation of differences in working remotely and has experience of developing relationships with teams in other locations.

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree and 7+ years of Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Engineering experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Engineering experience, OR
  • Master’s degree and 3+ years of Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Engineering experience, OR
  • JD/PhD, OR
  • 9+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Engineering in lieu of a degree
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
