Job Description: As a Quality Manager, you will lead quality assurance activities for a major airport construction program and provide independent oversight of project quality requirements. You will develop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Management System (QMS), monitor contractor compliance, lead audits and quality reviews, manage nonconformance and corrective-action processes, and coordinate with project teams, contractors, designers, and airport stakeholders to ensure work meets contract documents, applicable standards, and project quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Management Plan and Quality Management System (QMS), with an emphasis on quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Provide independent quality oversight of contractors and project teams, including review of contractor QA/QC plans, inspection and test plans, procedures, submittals, and quality records.
Plan and conduct quality audits, surveillance, and field quality reviews; document findings, trends, deficiencies, and opportunities for corrective action.
Manage nonconformance reporting, corrective and preventive actions, root-cause reviews, and verification of effective closure.
Monitor inspection, testing, hold-point, witness-point, and acceptance activities to confirm compliance with contract documents, approved procedures, and applicable requirements.
Coordinate quality activities with construction management, design, document control, safety, commissioning, contractors, and airport stakeholders to resolve quality issues and maintain project progress.
Track and report quality metrics, audit results, nonconformance trends, corrective actions, and other key performance indicators to project leadership.
Support material acceptance, testing documentation, commissioning, punch-list resolution, turnover, and closeout to ensure complete and traceable quality records.
Promote a proactive quality culture through training, coaching, lessons learned, and clear communication of project quality expectations.
Maintain organized and auditable quality documentation in accordance with project document-control requirements.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
5-7+ years of progressively responsible quality assurance / quality management experience on complex construction programs.
Airport or aviation construction experience required.
Demonstrated experience developing and administering Quality Management Systems, audit programs, nonconformance processes, and corrective-action programs.
Ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, project leadership, and multidisciplinary construction teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years in a quality leadership, managerial, or supervisory role.
Experience on active airport projects involving airside and/or landside construction, terminal, utility, civil, structural, MEP, or vertical scopes.
Quality-related certification such as CQM, CQE, CQA, CCM, or similar credential a plus.
Experience with commissioning, turnover, closeout, and quality records management on large public infrastructure projects.
Skills and Competencies:
Quality assurance auditing, surveillance, root-cause analysis, nonconformance management, and corrective/preventive action tracking.
Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, procedures, and quality requirements.
Strong written communication, reporting, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction/document management platforms.
