About the position:
We are looking for a full-time Quality Manager to join our Operations and Maintenance team in Khancoban!
As Quality Manager, you will serve as the technical authority for major generator and turbine outages across Snowy Hydro, leading the quality planning and execution of all site works.
With our current quality processes and systems still maturing, this role offers a genuine opportunity to shape how we work, establishing sound, fit-for-purpose policies and practices across the business, maintaining them for the long term, and driving robust assurance to ensure compliance. You will be the primary escalation point for critical quality risks. Your work directly underpins long-term asset safety, reliability, and availability by ensuring outage engineering, procurement, and repairs meet rigorous standards. Above all, you will champion a zero-harm culture, embedding proactive HSE and risk management into every phase of delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

Outage Quality Planning: Develop and execute risk-based quality management plans and controls from initial site setup through to project close-out.

Technical Governance: Oversee concurrent work programs, review detailed scopes of work and technical specifications, and regularly audit field execution to ensure compliance.

Issue Escalation & Reporting: Deliver clear, actionable reporting on productivity and execution hurdles, resolving high-risk quality challenges swiftly.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Outage Managers, Engineering, and Procurement to align contractor delivery with maintenance schedules.

Team Leadership: Build a high-performing culture by setting clear expectations, mentoring QC Officers, and driving targeted professional development.
About you:

Solid background in quality management within heavy, capital-intensive plant operations or maintenance environments.

Comprehensive expertise in QA/QC processes, capable of managing engineering quality from concept to handover.

Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the agility to navigate fast-paced, shifting outage environments.

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and elevate distributed teams to achieve high performance.

Exceptional communication and negotiation capabilities, able to engage effectively with senior leaders, site crews, and external contractors.
