1st Shift: 7:30am – 3:30pm, Monday - Friday
What You’ll Do:
The duties and responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:
Production Compliance
- Performs hourly quality checks using mobile devices to ensure finished products meet customer in-plant instructions, quality standards, and Finished Goods Compliance GS1 including weight accuracy / weight tolerance – MAV violations, bag integrity, label accuracy, and identification of unusual odors or discoloration.
- Understand and apply scale adjustment rules.
- Understand and follow the Quality Monitoring Matrix (QMM).
- Conducts inspections of packaging materials and donor candy to ensure specifications and quality requirements are met, identify and reject materials that do not meet established standards.
- Read and interpret customer Bill of Materials (BOM) and Integrated Display Model (IDM) documentation including understanding batch codes, managing re-packs, concessions, and building product displays while performing all tasks required to ensure accurate setup and presentation.
- Understand donor inventory requirements by reading batch codes, identifying item numbers, interpreting donor allocation sheets, determining best-before dates, and identifying and handling non-conformities in accordance with company procedures.
Co-Pack Audits and Verifications
- Complete GMP audits as required.
- Utilize the Bagger Sanitation Checklist, Line Sanitation Verification form, Line Set-up Verification form (Bagger and Flex), Sanitation Audit, and Glass and Brittle Plastics Audit to ensure operational and quality standards are met.
Flex lines and Production Bagger Machines
- Perform conformance verification activities and complete all required quality assurance documentation, including Co-Pack QA Form Parts 1 and 2, bagger line product and packaging process check, bagger count check, and weight control chart forms.
- Completes End-of-Shift form, activities, and reporting to confirm compliance with quality and operational standards.
Safety and Quality Compliance
- Provides support in researching, documenting, and resolving QA issues and quality discrepancies by promptly reporting concerns to management and following established QA issue processes.
- Adhere to company safety, quality, and productivity standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), 6S principles, OSHA standards, and Just in Time practices.
- Follow all internal policies and procedures related to administrative and operational processes.
Team Collaboration & Flexibility
- Work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party sanitation vendors to resolve challenges and achieve shared operational goals.
- Be adaptable and open to change, with the ability to quickly learn new systems or processes.
- Assist with special projects, provide coverage for colleagues as needed, and take on additional responsibilities based on evolving business requirements
