Summary
Inspects raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure they meet design specs, safety requirements, and regulatory standards using precision tools and testing equipment.
- examine raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to verify they meet design specifications, dimensions, weight, labeling, and safety requirements.
- perform incoming quality control (IQC) for raw materials, in-process inspections, or final product verification.
- use precision measuring tools and testing equipment to detect defects or deviations from standards and may discard or reject non-compliant items
- maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and deviations.
- monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- recommend adjustments to assembly, tooling, or material selection to prevent defects and improve efficiency.
- review procedures, systems, and quality manuals to ensure compliance with regulations.
- ensure products comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and customer specifications. This includes verifying labeling, packaging, and handling procedures, as well as assessing environmental and safety compliance.
- work closely with engineers, production supervisors, and compliance teams. They communicate findings, highlight concerns, and provide guidance to ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively
- require strong attention to detail, technical knowledge of quality standards, proficiency with measuring instruments, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
