QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Summary
Oversee construction project budgets, contracts, and costs, coordinating procurement and payments while ensuring compliance and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full spectrum of quantity surveying duties including procurement, budgeting, cost estimation, contract administration, and measurement of quantities.
- Evaluate and process variation orders and support cost control efforts throughout project life cycles.
- Source and assess new subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
- Prepare and issue Request for Quotation (RFQ) and tender documents in coordination with relevant departments.
- Review and compare subcontractor/supplier quotations, conduct evaluations, and provide recommendations.
- Participate in procurement meetings and support the preparation of price data and procurement reports.
- Provide tendering support, especially in pricing exercises and Value Engineering/Cost Down (VECD) proposals.
- Collaborate with site teams to support contract administration, including main contracts, subcontract management, interim payments, and final accounts.
- Assist the QS Manager in managing all contractual and financial aspects of construction projects to ensure compliance and profitability.
Requirements:
- Relevant working experience in quantity surveying, with site-based experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a good understanding of construction processes and contract law.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work both independently and in a team environment
