Job Summary

Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, contracts, and payments for construction projects. Analyze drawings, monitor expenditures, negotiate claims, and ensure compliance to deliver accurate financial control and successful project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects to support budgeting and financial planning
  • Develop comprehensive project budgets and cost plans aligned with project scope and requirements
  • Analyze construction drawings and specifications to quantify materials and labor accurately
  • Prepare tender documents and bills of quantities (BOQ) to facilitate contractor and supplier bidding
  • Invite, evaluate, and compare quotations from contractors and suppliers to support procurement decisions
  • Assist in selecting contractors and negotiate contract terms to secure favorable agreements
  • Prepare and manage construction contracts ensuring compliance with agreed conditions
  • Handle contractual correspondence and maintain accurate documentation throughout project lifecycle
  • Monitor project expenditures against budgets to identify cost variations and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare regular cost reports for management and clients to provide financial transparency
  • Assess and certify contractor progress claims, preparing interim and final payment certificates
  • Evaluate project scope changes, extension-of-time requests, and cost claims to manage variations
  • Negotiate settlements with contractors and clients to resolve claims efficiently
  • Reconcile all project costs upon completion and prepare final accounts for agreement with stakeholders
  • Prepare and update invoices, purchase orders, quotes, credit notes, and delivery orders for finalized claims in coordination with Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers
  • Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office to support measurement, documentation, and reporting tasks

Required competencies and certifications

Diploma/Degree in Construction Industry, Basic experience in the industry to understand job scope
