We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join Kilnbridge's Fire Protection team and support the successful commercial delivery of passive fire protection projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile remediation, compliance and building safety projects, gaining exposure to a specialist and fast-growing sector that plays a critical role in protecting people and assets. You'll work closely with clients, project teams and supply chain partners, helping to ensure projects are delivered profitably, compliantly and to the highest standards.

What you'll do

  • Manage the commercial and financial aspects of passive fire protection projects from inception through to final account.

  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports and cost value reconciliations.

  • Produce interim valuations, applications for payment, variations, claims and final accounts.

  • Support the administration of NEC and JCT contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met and commercial opportunities maximised.

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to build strong, collaborative working relationships.

  • Undertake site visits to review project progress, assess variations and support accurate reporting.

  • Prepare, negotiate and submit quotations for change and additional works.

  • Monitor project costs to identify risks and opportunities, implementing effective mitigation strategies where required.

  • Support procurement activities, including subcontractor and supplier engagement, package management and cost control.

  • Prepare clear and accurate commercial reports in line with business reporting requirements.

  • Contribute to tendering, estimating and business development activities, supporting the continued growth of the Fire Protection business.

  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure safe, compliant and commercially successful project delivery.

What you'll need

  • HNC, HND or Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.

  • Experience within passive fire protection, remediation, construction, fit-out or a related specialist subcontracting environment.

  • Strong understanding of commercial management principles, including cost control, forecasting and value reporting.

  • Experience working with NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.

  • Knowledge of Building Safety legislation, Building Regulations and Approved Document B.

  • Experience preparing valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.

  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and manage project risks.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and wider Microsoft Office applications.

  • Membership of RICS or another relevant professional body, or working towards professional accreditation, would be advantageous.

  • IFE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Passive Fire Protection would be desirable.
