Quantity Surveyor

We are a specialist engineering company, focused on the healthcare sector. We would like to invite experienced project/site engineers to join our team and grow with us. The role involves working on large-scale new builds as well and A&A projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review contracts, specifications and tender documents
  • Maintain proper contract correspondence and documentation
  • Prepare monthly progress claims.
  • Identify potential Variation Orders arising from design changes, site instructions, additional works and changes in project scope.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors and Engineers to capture all variations before work is carried out.
  • Prepare detailed Variation Order cost breakdowns including labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs.
  • Obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations to substantiate VO pricing.
  • Submit Variation Order quotations to consultants and clients promptly.
  • Attend commercial meetings to negotiate and finalise Variation Orders.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Variation Order register and monitor approval status.
  • Follow up outstanding VO submissions until certification.
  • Ensure all approved VOs are incorporated into project cost forecasts and final accounts.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for contractual claims, including Extension of Time (EOT) where applicable.
  • Monitor project cost
  • Perform quantity take-offs from drawings.
  • Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate quotations and prepare commercial comparisons.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ Quantity Surveying experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience in M&E, Mechanical Services, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection or Medical Gas projects is preferred.
  • Proven experience preparing and negotiating Variation Orders.
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
