Quantum Control Software/Embedded Engineer
Applications: candidates may apply from outside Japan. Visa sponsorship: available. Japanese: Not required. English: Business level. Japan Dev tags: Engineering, Eng - Other, Python.
Overview
Design, implement and benchmark software stack that powers our ion trap quantum computers. Develop layered software interfaces for hardware control systems, including FPGAs and RFSoC. You will work closely with researchers to develop prototypes and implement algorithms that support our quantum computing efforts. This is an ideal opportunity to apply technical skills to real-world impacts in the early stages of a deep tech start-up.
Detail
- Design, implement, and evaluate software systems for quantum computing applications
- Collaborate with researchers to develop prototypes and implement quantum algorithms
- Develop quantum control software, including:
- Ion shuttling control
- Quantum state manipulation
- Pulse sequence control
- Quantum state tomography
- Cavity stabilization
- Work closely with experimental hardware and real-time control systems
- Set up and maintain cloud server infrastructure to support experiment control, data management, and collaborative work
Position Highlights
- Opportunity to play a central role in the real-world deployment of ion-trap quantum computers, working at the interface of cutting-edge research and system engineering.
- Early-stage growth phase (second year since founding), offering broad responsibility, technical ownership, and meaningful influence over design choices and strategy.
- English-speaking, international environment, collaborating closely with world-class researchers and engineers across theory, experiment, hardware, and software.
- Strong emphasis on tight feedback loops between theory, experiment, hardware, and control software.
