Quantum Cryptography Engineer

You will lead the post-quantum cryptography roadmap and own the cryptographic foundations for consensus, accounts, randomness, and bridges. You will design, analyze, specify, audit, and implement production cryptographic primitives in Rust, develop migration paths from classical to post-quantum and hybrid schemes, and document threat models and security assumptions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the post-quantum cryptography roadmap for signatures, KEMs, threshold schemes, hybrid migration, and crypto-agility
• Design and implement lattice-based, hash-based, and hybrid cryptographic primitives in Rust
• Re-architect or hybridize Ed25519, BLS, and Schnorr primitives with quantum-resistant alternatives
• Design protocol crypto-agility, including key rotation, algorithm negotiation, and in-place migration paths
• Build threshold, aggregate, and multi-signature schemes for validator consensus
• Develop distributed key generation, verifiable random functions, and post-quantum-secure leader election
• Contribute to zero-knowledge primitives and post-quantum-friendly proof systems
• Audit cryptographic code and write formal specifications
• Engage with academic partners, NIST PQC standardization, and the cryptography community
• Document threat models, security assumptions, and migration timelines

Requirements

• Deep working knowledge of signatures, KEMs, hash functions, zero-knowledge proofs, threshold schemes, and MPC
• Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography, including lattice cryptography, hash-based signatures, code-based schemes, and security-performance trade-offs
• Experience implementing cryptographic primitives in production code
• Rust expertise preferred; C or C++ accepted for systems-level work
• Understanding of provable security, reduction proofs, side channels, timing attacks, and constant-time implementation
• Understanding of consensus protocols and cryptographic performance trade-offs
