Quoting & Project Manager
Summary
An in-house estimator/quoting & project manager at an aerospace fabricator: reviews drawings, assesses fit with manufacturing capabilities, and builds cost, time, material, and labor estimates for fabricated assemblies using ERP/MRP and estimating tools, while tracking RFQ win/loss performance. On-site only; US-person status required.
- Utilize fabrication experience to review drawing requirements and identify special requirements or possible processing concerns; gather team as required to discuss risk factors and develop process.
- Determine if the items submitted fit within the company’s manufacturing capabilities and product scope
- Utilize Our ERP system and other estimating tools to calculate material, manufacturing time/cost, and prepare final proposals for review/submission.
- Organize group packages to be able to present value or lack of value to the company
- Work closely with customers as well as estimating team including purchasing, quality, operations, engineering, and staff to meet business strategies.
- Track performance of open, quoted, win/loss RFQ’s to provide feedback and understand performance
- Track actuals on major quotes won to ensure assumptions are holding true and modify with team input as required.
- Perform reviews of the estimating process and provide suggestions for improvements that may be beneficial to the continued growth of the company
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Technical degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years manufacturing experience with fabrications including welding
- 2-5 years aerospace experience preferred; knowledge of GE, PW or RR
- Some MRP experience as well as understanding sourcing of components and services is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- GD&T proficiency
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Engages in effective teamwork and displays strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Thorough in completing tasks and focused on quality output.
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Individual must be able to carry job boxes up to 25 lbs. and know to ask for help in any situation where the job might exceed 25 lbs.
- Able to bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, etc.
- Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
- Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
- This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Ferco Aerospace will require proof of status prior to employment.
