About the role

We are seeking a hands-on R&D Application Engineer – AOI Software / Machine Vision to design, develop, and optimize high-performance software modules for Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems. In this role, you will work closely with vision application engineers and tier-1 multinational semiconductor manufacturers to deploy robust 2D/3D inspection solutions directly onto high-volume production lines. Your work will directly impact yield optimization, defect detection accuracy, and Industry 4.0 transformation across global semiconductor supply chains.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C#-based software modules for 2D/3D AOI inspection systems using modern computer vision algorithms and image processing techniques

  • Develop and maintain intuitive inspection recipes, user-configurable vision libraries, setup tools, and user interfaces tailored for high-speed manufacturing environments

  • Collaborate closely with vision application engineers to optimize camera parameters, algorithm thresholds, and feature extraction models for reliable defect detection

  • Configure and interface software modules with industrial cameras, specialized optics, lighting controllers, and image acquisition hardware

  • Conduct software debugging, performance profiling, memory management, and robustness testing to ensure 24/7 uninterrupted uptime in demanding semiconductor fab conditions

  • Support initial deployment, software commissioning, and high-level vision troubleshooting at local and international customer or partner facilities when required

  • Author clear, structured software architecture designs, API specifications, release notes, and operational user guides for internal technical teams and end-customers

  • Contribute to continuous product innovation, exploring deep learning/AI-driven inspection models, image analytics, and Industry 4.0 data ecosystem enhancements

About you

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline

  • Junior Level: Fresh graduates with relevant project/internship experience, or 0–3 years in C# software development, machine vision, or image processing

  • Mid Level: 3–7 years of proven hands-on experience in industrial C# software development, AOI systems, machine vision, or semiconductor inspection software

  • Strong proficiency in C# (.NET Framework / .NET Core / WPF / WinForms)

  • Hands-on understanding of core image processing concepts, including spatial filters, adaptive thresholding, edge detection, feature extraction, blob analysis, and pattern matching

  • Familiarity with machine vision hardware setup, including industrial cameras, optics/lenses, lighting techniques, and frame grabbers

  • Practical knowledge of multithreading, asynchronous execution, and low-latency image handling

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a willingness to root-cause software and image inspection challenges

  • Excellent team player capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional technical teams and customer engineers

  • Good professional communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to document technical concepts clearly
