R&D Engineer, Systems
Technical ownership role for a product family
This is a permanent full-time role where you'll take technical responsibility for advanced gas measurement systems. You will combine hands-on engineering work with system-level ownership, contributing directly to integration, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvements while ensuring alignment across multiple engineering disciplines.
As a R&D Engineer at Gasmet, your work will be hands-on, varied, and impactful. You will:

Become the primary technical contact for your product area and build deep expertise in gas measurement technology and system architecture.

Work hands-on with prototypes, test setups, system integration, and verification in our own laboratory

Take responsibility for the overall functionality of continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS)

Collaborate with specialists from optics, electronics, chemistry, mechanics, automation, software, and IoT.

Support production and other departments throughout the product lifecycle
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will provide system-level ownership for a product family. You will work closely with specialists from multiple engineering disciplines and project managers, helping ensure that development activities support the long-term success of the product.

Take technical ownership of assigned product families and ensure successful product development and lifecycle management

Ensure system-level alignment across electronics, mechanics, software, optics and analytics disciplines.

Assemble, integrate, test, and troubleshoot complete measurement systems and subsystems

Drive product improvements, upgrades, technical problem solving, and design changes throughout the product lifecycle.

Ensure products meet customer, quality, regulatory, and company requirements

Work closely with production, sourcing, service, quality, and product management teams

Create and maintain product documentation and technical guidance materials
What helps you succeed here
-
Background in electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechatronics, or another relevant technical field with demonstrated experience in systemlevel responsibility (BSc/MSc or equivalent hands-on experience)

Strong electrical engineering understanding is particularly valuable in this role. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and wiring diagrams is essential.

Comfortable working with systemlevel electrical documentation (for example power distribution, I/O, and interconnections)

Ability to coordinate technical activities and collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines

Experience with complex technical systems and an interest in taking system-level technical responsibility.

Ability to balance hands-on engineering work with long-term technical planning and prioritization

Willingness to collaborate, communicate and coordinate clearly with different teams

Comfortable working in English, both spoken and written

Openness to occasional travel

Finnish Electrical Qualification S2

Familiarity with measurement equipment, instrumentation, or laboratory work

Electronics knowledge beyond the system level — such as PCB design, componentlevel troubleshooting, or detailed schematics

Background in device or mechanical manufacturing
