R&D on AI Platform Architect
About the role
Q Star Technologies Co., Ltd is seeking an R&D on AI Platform Architect to join our growing technology team on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position based in Kowloon Bay, Kwun Tong District, where you will take the lead in designing, developing and optimising artificial intelligence platforms that drive innovation across our organisation. As an AI Platform Architect, you will be at the forefront of technology advancement, translating complex business requirements into scalable, robust AI solutions that deliver measurable value. This role is pivotal in establishing the technical direction for our AI initiatives and ensuring we maintain a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
Key responsibilities
Design and architect comprehensive AI platform solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements
Lead the development of scalable, resilient AI infrastructure capable of supporting enterprise-level applications and workloads
Conduct research and evaluation of emerging AI technologies, frameworks and methodologies to identify opportunities for platform enhancement
Develop technical specifications and architectural documentation for AI platform components and integrations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, machine learning engineers and software developers to implement platform features and capabilities
Establish best practices, standards and guidelines for AI platform development, deployment and maintenance
Optimise AI model performance, inference speed and resource utilisation across the platform infrastructure
Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and pilot programmes to validate new AI technologies and approaches
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the organisation
Ensure compliance with security, data privacy and regulatory requirements in AI platform design and implementation
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related technical discipline
7+ years of professional experience in software architecture, cloud platform design or AI/machine learning systems development
Demonstrated expertise in designing large-scale, distributed systems and microservices architectures
Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C++ or Go
In-depth knowledge of machine learning frameworks and tools including TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar platforms
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure or equivalent, including containerisation and orchestration technologies
Solid understanding of data engineering, data pipelines and ETL processes
Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture and implementation plans
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working in agile development environments and cross-functional teams
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code principles
Preferred: Experience with large language models (LLMs), generative AI, or recent advances in AI technology
Preferred: Published research, open-source contributions or industry recognition in AI or software architecture
Preferred: Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements for AI systems
