R.E.C. Before & After School Staff (part-time)
JOB SUMMARY: The R.E.C. Program Staff will be responsible for assisting the Site Director in implementing a program to care for young children. They must ensure the development and safety of these children. They must be respectful of children and parents, and ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. This is an at-will position. Primary duties include:
- Ensure children are supervised at all times.
- Provide a variety of experiences and activities for children.
- Check and respond to phone calls and phone messages from parents.
- Remain actively engaged with children including playing games, talking with children and leading activities.
- Implement age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program.
- Implement positive behavioral correction techniques when required.
- Provide adequate equipment and activities.
- Provide developmentally appropriate program environment that reflects the learning and growth.
- Implement activity plans and activity schedules created by Site Director.
- Assure a healthy, safe, clean and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
- Engage in conversations with children in the program and limit personal conversations with co-workers.
- Provide an inclusive environment.
- Clearly and effectively communicate with supervisor, staff, and parents.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must be at least 16 years of age and should have:
- Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children in a calm and tactful manner.
- Maintain self-control and composure in difficult situations.
- Must be punctual and dependable.
- Must be able to maintain discretions and student confidentiality.
- Should possess enthusiasm and direct children's activities in a positive experience.
- Ability to accept constructive criticism or supervision.
- Should be self-motivated to accomplish program goals and objectives.
- Must possess the ability to multitask.
- Able to complete First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
SCHEDULE & PAY: This is a part-time position which follows CCSD 15 school calendar. Hiring rate is $15-$18 per hour, dependent upon qualifications, plus applicable facility usage and program discounts. Various site openings:
- Central Road School: 7am-8:55am (Mon-Fri), 3:55pm-6pm (Mon-Thurs), & 3:05pm-6pm (Fri)
- Kimball Hill School: 7am-8:10am (Mon-Fri), 3:05pm-6pm (Mon-Thurs), & 2:15pm-6pm (Fri)
- Willow Bend School: 7am-8:10am (Mon-Fri), 3:05pm-6pm (Mon-Thurs), & 2:15pm-6pm (Fri)
- Floater between school sites: times and locations vary dependent upon weekly needs
- Individual is responsible for showing up 15 minutes prior to times above as well as staying a few minutes after for clean up.
