R456 - IT Business Partner (Senior Manager/MNC/Electronics Manufacturing)

As Senior Manager, IT Business Partner, you will serve as a senior bridge between business leaders and regional IT teams, helping shape technology direction, align priorities, and support the adoption of solutions that strengthen performance across the organisation. You will work across a broad stakeholder landscape and play an important role in connecting strategy, service delivery, transformation, and leadership in support of country and regional objectives.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic bridge between the business and Regional IT Service Delivery teams, leveraging technology to support business growth, operational efficiency, customer engagement, and business transformation.
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Finance, and other business functions to understand business priorities, challenges, and growth objectives.
- Translate business requirements and operational challenges into clear IT requirements and solutions for internal IT delivery teams, vendors, and external solution providers.
- Work with business users to improve and simplify processes, enhance collaboration, and streamline workflows across product and business teams.
- Identify and drive opportunities for digital transformation, including CRM, data analytics, automation, AI, mobile applications, and e-commerce platforms.
- Assess, prioritize, and manage IT demands based on business value, urgency, cost, and strategic priorities, in alignment with Business Management.
- Support successful adoption of new technologies through change management, user communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with Regional IT teams across applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other technology functions to deliver secure, reliable, and effective IT solutions.
- Manage external vendors and solution providers, including project costs, service levels, performance, and ROI.
- Advise business leadership on technology strategies and roadmaps that enhance competitiveness, customer experience, and productivity.
- Serve as the key IT advisor to Malaysia country leadership and group companies across Malaysia.
- Lead and support the adoption of IT services across Malaysia group companies in close collaboration with Regional IT Service Leaders.
- Oversee IT operations and service delivery, identifying opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure agreed IT service levels and operational standards are consistently achieved or exceeded.
- Collaborate with APAC teams to plan and execute country-level IT projects in accordance with regional standards, priorities, and requirements.
- Coordinate business readiness activities to ensure successful implementation and adoption of regional IT initiatives.
- Work with Regional Service Teams to plan and allocate resources required to support APAC group companies from Malaysia.
- Develop team members through career planning, capability building, knowledge development, and succession planning.
- Strengthen organisational capabilities by developing and retaining critical IT expertise.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing IT team.
- Take responsibility for the preparation of the annual IT business plan and budget.
- Monitor and control actual IT expenditure to ensure performance is within or better than approved business plan targets.
- Monitor financial forecasts, identify budget variances, and implement appropriate actions to maintain financial control.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise IT services, business partnering, people leadership, and/or business transformation.
- Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and retaining high-performing IT teams.
- Experience with project management.
- Experience partnering with country leadership, regional IT leaders, and functional heads in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Finance.
- Proven experience managing or leading large-scale IT projects with a value of at least USD 2 million is a plus.
- Experience working within a Japanese business environment is a plus.
- Prior experience in electronics manufacturing or a closely related industrial environment, such as consumer electronics, industrial manufacturing, or supply-chain-heavy operations, is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Travel
- Able to travel frequently within Malaysia is a plus.
- Able to travel overseas approximately five times per year is a plus.
