Radiation Oncology Therapist

Provide ionizing radiation in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.

• Accurately delivers the prescribed, planned course of therapy with supervision from mentor.
• Performs simulation/tumor localization procedures with supervision from mentor.
• Orders for care are scheduled, carried out and documented in the electronic chart.
• Take weekly portal images for treatment verification and have physician check.
• Take patient photos and treatment field photos and transfer to patient chart.
• Checks patient & chart identification, prepares the treatment room, sets up the immobilization devices, blocks, and tattoos patients with supervision from mentor
• Assures that the patient is seen by Oncologist weekly and more often if recognizes signs of treatment complication.
• Observes and practices Radiation Safety Standards.
