Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Radiology Tech, you will provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department, performing high-quality images and exams with sensitivity to patient needs, and upholding safe radiation practices. Every day you will operate imaging equipment, maintain patient comfort, follow all safety protocols, and act as a clinical resource and role model for students, staff technologists, and other hospital personnel, ensuring current standards of practice for the unit. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong technical skills in radiology, meticulous attention to radiation safety, and excellent patient care and communication abilities.
- Performs diagnostic radiology procedures, ensuring safety for all individuals and practicing ALARA radiation safety.
- Produces quality images accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
- Prepares patients, provides procedure information, responds to needs, and assists with patient positioning.
- Observes patient and equipment during procedures, reporting unusual occurrences and documenting conditions.
- Facilitates smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment and resources.
- Correctly inputs charges, required data, and completes necessary hospital/medical imaging paperwork for each exam.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging to include Surgery and Trauma.
- One (1) year post certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers.
- Registered Technologist, Radiology R.T. (R) (ARRT)
- Current Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
- Kansas LRT (applicable entities)
Preferred
- Associate's Degree
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous Radiologic Technologist experience.
- Bone Density certification within six (6) months of hire, if applicable to entity
