Range Operations Specialist

About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio.

Responsible for implementing range operations functions directly related to the safe and efficient utilization of the range complex in the use of high risk weapons, ammunition, and other hazardous materials on multiple ranges, and training sites.

Monitor all firing and range activities to impose limitations on ranges and training areas, considering proximity, compatibility of programs, or to immediately suspend operations if the safety of personnel is questionable.

Conduct both planned and unscheduled inspections of firing programs and range complex operations.
