RANGE SAFETY OFFICER (RANGE CONTROLLER)
Summary
Coordinates and controls military training ranges, airspace, and facilities to ensure safe and authorized use during combat readiness exercises.
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. You will serve as a communication conduit between units operating within a range complex and emergency response agencies.
You will coordinate real time scheduling and authorized use of firing ranges, training facilities, maneuver areas, and special use airspace.
You will control airspace of range training areas by utilizing knowledge of aircraft performance parameters (i.e. airspeed, altitude, etc.) to ensure safety of combat training and readiness events.
You will follow policies, principles and procedures regarding de-conflict combat readiness events.
You will execute real time scheduling to ensure availability of firing ranges, training facility, maneuver areas and special use airspace for training operations.
