Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled React Native Developer to design, build, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing mobile applications for Android and iOS. The role requires strong expertise in React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, native platform integration, API consumption, automated testing, and mobile release processes. The developer will collaborate with product, UX, backend, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams to deliver consistent, accessible, and responsive user experiences across devices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain production-grade mobile applications using React Native for Android and iOS.
Translate business requirements, user journeys, and UX designs into reusable, responsive, and pixel-accurate components.
Develop clean, modular, testable, and maintainable code using JavaScript and TypeScript.
Integrate mobile applications with RESTful or GraphQL APIs, authentication services, analytics, notifications, and third-party SDKs.
Implement platform-specific capabilities and native modules using Kotlin/Java for Android and Swift/Objective-C for iOS when required.
Manage application state, navigation, offline behaviour, caching, error handling, and secure local storage.
Optimise application start-up time, rendering, memory usage, network performance, animations, and battery consumption.
Write and maintain unit, component, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
Diagnose and resolve functional defects, crashes, performance bottlenecks, and platform-specific issues across devices and operating-system versions.
Participate in solution design, estimation, sprint planning, code reviews, technical documentation, and Agile ceremonies.
Support CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, code signing, build automation, release management, and deployment to Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Apply secure-coding, privacy, accessibility, observability, and mobile engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Monitor production stability and collaborate with support teams to analyse logs, crashes, and user-impacting incidents.
Evaluate React Native upgrades, libraries, and architectural changes while managing compatibility and technical debt.
Required Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with React Native, React, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
Sound understanding of React concepts, hooks, component lifecycle, reusable component design, and common mobile architecture patterns.
Experience with state-management solutions such as Redux Toolkit, Zustand, MobX, or Context API.
Experience with React Navigation or an equivalent navigation framework.
Proficiency in integrating RESTful APIs, JSON payloads, asynchronous workflows, and token-based authentication.
Working knowledge of Android Studio, Gradle, Xcode, CocoaPods or Swift Package Manager, simulators, emulators, and physical-device debugging.
Practical exposure to native Android and iOS development, including platform permissions, deep links, push notifications, background processing, and application lifecycle.
Experience with unit and component testing tools such as Jest and React Native Testing Library, plus an end-to-end testing framework.
Proficiency with Git, branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
Understanding of mobile security practices, including secure storage, certificate handling, data protection, input validation, and safe dependency management.
Experience with crash reporting, analytics, logging, and performance-monitoring tools.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with the React Native New Architecture, including Fabric, JSI, Codegen, and Turbo Native Modules.
Knowledge of Expo, Expo Application Services, over-the-air update strategies, or equivalent tooling.
Experience developing native modules or bridging platform SDKs using Kotlin/Java and Swift/Objective-C.
Exposure to accessibility standards, localisation, responsive layouts, and device or tablet form factors.
Experience with Firebase services, application monitoring, feature flags, remote configuration, or mobile analytics.
Understanding of mobile DevSecOps, automated quality gates, dependency scanning, and secure release practices.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery and experience working in distributed, cross-functional teams.
