Summary

Contract front-end web developer role (12+12 months, Jan 2027 start) embedded with a Federal Government signals intelligence department in Canberra, requiring NV1 security clearance. Day to day: designing, building and documenting React/TypeScript front-end capability, integrating REST APIs, and maintaining automated testing.

Salary: $120 - $135 per hour (inc. super)

  • 12 + 12 + 12 month contract – Jan 2027 start date
  • NV1 Security Clearance - BBP, ACT
  • Design, build, integrate, deliver and document front-end capabilities

Our client, a Federal Government department based in BBP, ACT, that is responsible for signals intelligence, requires the services of a front-end web developer for a 12 + 12 month contract.

Duties of the front end Web Developer:

  • Design, build, integrate, deliver and document software capability that meets business requirements.
  • Enhance and support automation capability for existing systems and recommend/design new structures and tools.
  • Integrate COTS and GOTS software.
  • Translate logical designs into physical designs and integrate software employing an ASDM.
  • Monitor systems and infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing.

Skills and Experience - front end Web Developer:

  • Demonstrated experience and strong proficiency in REACT/TypeScript/JavaScript/ES6, including the use of modern build tools and bundlers (e.g. Webpack) and unit testing frameworks (eg. Jest).
  • Experience in tracking and progressing tasks to completion within an Agile, Kanban and Scrum framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing UX specs to public facing application and producing detailed design documentation.
  • Demonstrated SPA experience including state-management (e.g. Redux, MobX), routing, responsive design etc.
  • Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express, including secure authentication workflows and data handling.
