SUMMARY
The Real Estate Loan Production Manager is responsible for leading Altura Credit Union's mortgage sales and origination function to achieve sustainable loan and membership growth while delivering exceptional member experience. The position provides direct leadership, coaching, performance management, and development to the Real Estate Lending Sales Team and is accountable for application volume, funded production, referral conversion, pipeline performance, and achievement of established individual and departmental goals. The Production Manager establishes a high-performance sales culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, integrity, responsiveness, and member service; develops strong relationships throughout Altura's branch network and the communities we serve; and partners closely with the Vice President of Real Estate Lending, Mortgage Operations Manager, Capital Markets, and other stakeholders to ensure loans are originated efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with Credit Union policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable agency and investor guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direct leadership, coaching, development, and accountability for Mortgage Loan Officers. Establishes clear individual and team expectations; conducts regular coaching sessions, pipeline reviews, sales meetings, and performance discussions; recognizes strong performance; and identifies and addresses performance, communication, attendance, reliability, or accountability concerns promptly and consistently.
- Develops and executes strategies to achieve established mortgage application, origination, funding, loan growth, and membership growth objectives. Actively manages production using measurable indicators including application volume, funded volume, pull-through, referral conversion, pipeline activity, aging, and other established departmental metrics. Uses data to identify trends, performance gaps, opportunities, and corrective actions.
- Develops and executes business development and marketing strategies to expand Altura's mortgage presence and generate sustainable application and membership growth. Build strong partnerships with branch operations and develops productive relationships with real estate professionals, builders, community organizations, and other appropriate referral sources. Coaches MLOs on prospecting, relationship development, referral generation, follow-up, product knowledge, and conversion strategies.
- Partners closely with Mortgage Operations, Capital Markets, Post-Closing, Compliance, and other stakeholders to support an efficient and consistent mortgage experience. Maintains strong collaboration between Originations and Operations, ensures MLOs provide complete and accurate loan submissions, identifies recurring production or process barriers, and promotes timely, professional resolution of member and pipeline issues.
- Ensures mortgage origination activities comply with Credit Union policies, applicable regulations, and agency and investor guidelines. Maintains working knowledge of key mortgage lending requirements and partners with Compliance, Quality Control, Operations, and leadership to address findings, trends, exceptions, and training needs.
- Prepares and presents production reports, forecasts, pipeline analyses, and performance trends; contributes recommendations regarding products, pricing, staffing, sales strategies, technology, workflows, training, and market opportunities; and monitors relevant mortgage industry, competitive, economic, and market developments.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direct supervision and leadership to Altura Credit Union's Real Estate Lending Originations Team. Responsibilities include hiring and onboarding; establishing performance expectations; coaching and developing employees; monitoring attendance, productivity, service, and performance; recognizing achievement; providing timely feedback; addressing performance deficiencies; conducting performance evaluations; and supporting succession and career development. The Production Manager is expected to demonstrate consistent leadership presence, preparation, responsiveness, reliability, and follow-through and to create a professional, collaborative, member-focused, and results-oriented environment. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures, applicable state and federal laws, and Altura's strategic plan.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A four-year college degree in business, finance, management, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and directly related professional experience may be considered.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible residential real estate lending experience is required, with demonstrated knowledge of mortgage origination, processing, underwriting, closing, secondary market, and servicing functions.
- A minimum of three (5) years of mortgage sales leadership or comparable people-management experience is strongly preferred, including demonstrated experience coaching and developing Mortgage Loan Officers and managing individual and team performance.
- Demonstrated success achieving mortgage production, sales, referral, business development, or loan growth goals.
- Strong knowledge of conventional mortgage lending requirements, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines and automated underwriting systems such as Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Product Advisor (LPA).
- Working knowledge of applicable mortgage lending laws and regulations, including Fair Lending, ECOA/Regulation B, HMDA/Regulation C, RESPA/Regulation X, TILA/Regulation Z, SAFE Act requirements, and other applicable federal and state requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze production and pipeline data, identify trends and performance gaps, establish action plans, and hold employees accountable for results.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, develop, and manage employees with differing levels of experience and performance.
- Strong business development skills with demonstrated ability to build productive internal and external referral relationships.
