Position Overview

Murphy Geospatial, a Woolpert company, is seeking a Reality Capture Technician to support a major semiconductor manufacturing project in Dresden.

This role is primarily focused on the processing, registration, QA/QC, and management of terrestrial laser scan data captured across a large-scale construction environment. Working as part of our Special Projects team, you will help transform field-captured data into accurate, actionable information that supports construction delivery, quality assurance, and project reporting.

This opportunity would suit candidates from a laser scanning, geomatics, surveying, reality capture, digital construction, or BIM background who are looking to develop their expertise on a high-profile international project.

What You Will Do

  • Process terrestrial laser scan data captured by project survey teams.
  • Register, align, and quality-check point cloud datasets.
  • Identify and resolve point cloud registration and data quality issues.
  • Prepare structured point cloud deliverables for project stakeholders.
  • Support construction verification and design versus as-built assessments.
  • Produce reports, visual outputs, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain organised project datasets and reporting trackers.
  • Collaborate with surveying, BIM, and construction teams to support project delivery.

What You Will Bring

Essential:

  • Experience processing terrestrial laser scan data and point clouds.
  • Experience with point cloud registration and QA/QC workflows.
  • Experience using software such as Leica Cyclone, CloudCompare, Faro Scene, Trimble RealWorks, or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
  • Fluent English.
  • Full right to work in Germany.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with BIM models.
  • Experience in scan-to-model or construction verification workflows.
  • Experience on semiconductor, industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre projects.
  • Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, or Power BI.
