Summary

Receives and processes incoming shipments by unloading trucks, inspecting products, verifying accuracy against bills of lading, and routing goods to appropriate departments. Operates forklifts, maintains inventory records, and supports order fulfillment and shipping operations.

SUMMARY:

The Receiving Consumables specialist is responsible for unloading and receiving in packages from incoming trucks, inspecting the product, verify accuracy of shipments against bills of lading and invoices, maintaining records of goods received, report damaged goods and shortages, and route goods to the proper departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely drive forklift and effective utilization of equipment within the shipping area
  • Directly responsible for the unloading and receiving of trucks while quality checking
  • Properly putting away and tracking items
  • Delivering received items to internal departments when necessary
  • Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method
  • Identifying damaged or contaminated product and take necessary action
  • Ability to read, understand, and verify packaging slips and BOL’s using the inbound inspection stamp SQF
  • Ability to print and read load tags and maintain inventory
  • Ability to rotate stock in FIFO fashion
  • Ability to pull orders and ship UPS/RAF/Customer pick-up
  • Effectively communicate with customer service, sales, and purchasing verbally and with written communication
  • Print delivery receipts for drivers
  • Assist in securing loads with bars/straps
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
