We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Recon Manager to oversee vehicle reconditioning operations and help ensure our inventory is frontline-ready, efficiently managed, and aligned with dealership sales goals.

About the Role

The Recon Manager is responsible for overseeing the full vehicle reconditioning process for used and incoming inventory at Steven Ford. This position plays a critical role in making sure vehicles move through inspection, repair, detailing, and final preparation quickly and efficiently so they are ready for sale in a timely manner.

This role requires strong communication, follow-up, and coordination with service, parts, sales, detail, and management teams. The ideal candidate is process-driven, highly organized, and able to manage multiple vehicles and priorities in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Responsibilities

Manage the full reconditioning process for used vehicles, trade-ins, and auction purchases from intake through frontline readiness. Coordinate with service technicians, parts personnel, detail staff, and management to ensure vehicles are inspected, repaired, cleaned, photographed, and merchandised in a timely manner.

Track vehicle status throughout the reconditioning process and maintain clear communication with management regarding timelines, delays, and completion status. Monitor recon turnaround times, aging inventory, and repair progress to help improve inventory availability and reduce time-to-line.

Review vehicle condition, repair needs, and recon priorities to help ensure cost-effective decision-making and efficient use of dealership resources. Work closely with sales and inventory teams to prioritize units based on inventory needs and sales goals.

Help maintain quality standards for vehicle presentation, safety, and mechanical readiness. Support dealership profitability by controlling recon expenses, improving process efficiency, and helping move vehicles to the frontline as quickly as possible.

Compensation

$50,000 – $85,000+ annually based on experience, qualifications, and performance.
