Temp to hire Record Management Assistant
People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking Temp Record Management Assistant to join our Legal and compliance department. The Record Management Assistant is responsible for executing administrative duties related to medical record requests and record management for the organization with minimal supervision and for ensuring compliance with privacy laws and policies. Key responsibility includes tracking and responding to record requests as appropriate under policy, procedure, and law; calculating applicable fees for record requests and invoicing external requestors; and ensuring that non-electronic records are filed and stored in an organized manner in accordance with the record retention schedule.
Duration: Temp to hire 90day assignment with opportunity to transition into a full-time employee
Schedule: 1.0FTE, Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, hybrid schedule

Hiring Range: $21.60 - $23.04/Hourly, pay is variable on experience and qualifications.

Main Job Duties:
- Serve as the first point of contact for all record requests
- Review, track, and respond to all internal and external requests for medical records from the electronic health record and record storage sites.
- Provide excellent customer service by timely responding to and completing all record requests in compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Responsible for maintaining organized and efficient record management system and practices in accordance state and federal law, including HIPAA and the MN Health Records Act, and record management and tracking procedures identified by the organization.
- Develops and maintains spreadsheets, databases, correspondence/documents, and other resources that support the administration of record management duties
- Screen sensitive and confidential items to determine whether the item can be routinely handled and prepare appropriate response, or whether it needs to be reviewed by another party and direct the item to the appropriate party for review.
