Recreation Fee Technician

This position is located in located in Saguaro National Park. Open to the first 50 applicants or until 08/14/2026 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.

Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including Saguaro interpretive activities, hiking trails, etc. Distribute maps and brochures, inform visitors of potential safety hazards, and provide directions. Prepare and complete remittance reports for funds collected and perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling and remitting of government funds. Review and verify the functionality of new fee related systems or modifications to existing systems as a result of regulatory and program requirements. Review and verify the accuracy of manuals and/or standard operating procedures for the implementation of new and existing system designs and/or modifications. Provide informal and formal training and education to employees, volunteers, interns, cooperating association representatives, etc. regarding automated and non-automated fee processes, systems, software programs, tools, etc.

Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment. Applicants must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program. Ability to lift 25 lbs. You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work. You may be required to travel overnight away from home a couple nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
