RECREATION THERAPIST/OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT - BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

Position\: Recreation Therapist

Shift\: 7\:00AM-3\:30PM or 8\:00AM-4\:30PM, 40 Hours a week, 80 hours per pay period

Unit\: Behavioral Health unit

Location\: Upper Valley Medical Center

The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is responsible for establishing, coordinating, organizing, and implementing a balanced recreation therapy program based on the specific ages, needs, and treatment issues of the patients served. Responsible to make professional decisions to ensure patient safety during recreation therapy and experiential therapy groups, including knowledge of, and proper use and maintenance of, recreational and experiential equipment and the purchasing of supplies. Also responsible to maintain knowledge of current inventory and professional trends and to maintain national level professional certification or state level registration. The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is under direct supervision of the clinical coordinator.
